GOD'S LOVE

This is love. Undeserved. Unearned. Unmerited. Unconditional.

This is God’s love for us. We don’t deserve it. We didn’t earn it. We could do nothing to merit it. It has been given to us while we were still sinners. That's God's love.

Because this love was given to us freely doesn’t mean it came without a cost. It cost God dearly. His sacrifice was enormous. God gave up his Son. It cost Jesus his life.

That’s the depth of God’s love for you and me. It is lavish (1 John 3:1, NIV). It's indescribable. It's unfathomable. It makes no sense. God loves you and me so much that he gave his only Son (John 3:16). He knew apart from Jesus's death we would hopelessly perish in our sins (Hebrews 9:22). Because of God's love and Christ's death, we now have everlasting life extended to us. And it's all because of Jesus.

What do we do with this great love? We believe it exists. We take God at his word. And, we receive his love. As we do, we become sons and daughters of God (John 1:12).
